Plugit will develop and deploy a high-power multi-vehicle charging hub. Offering charging to all type of vehicles, from smaller passenger vehicles to high-capacity trucks. The hub will be in Sweden, located in direct connection with the E6, TEN-T core network, connecting Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
With focus on the important role of MCS charging for the full electrification of HDV transportation and the importance of flexible allocation of power to optimize charging Plugit will develop a multi-vehicle charging hub.
The hub will feature in total 20 charging points divided by 4 MCS charge points and 16 CCS charge points. Designing a multi-vehicle charging hub will not only address space constraints, but also a high degree of innovation connected to user experience and guidance. This to ensure a safe area and an optimized charging hub.
The pilot will focus on demonstrating best practices for user-centric design, including seamless access, user guidance and directions to ensure an optimized flow of traffic. The interaction of charging stations, vehicles and grids will also be researched to develop an as energy efficient charging hub as possible.
It will also explore operational aspects of a multi-vehicle site to ensure that the truck needs are meet while enabling charging of passenger vehicles. Plugit will collaborate with PostNord that will operate a BEV on this route. Through this collaboration user-feedback will be gathered.
This pilot aims to deliver a commercially feasible and scalable solution for multi-vehicle, advancing towards a TRL8 operational concept.
